Our new website has been crowdfunded with donations from three sponsors and fifty-two members or supporters, with the balance taken from WHG reserves.
The new website has been designed and implemented by Community Sites in Brighton. They have delivered a fully integrated website and archives catalogue, which has superior search capabilities, using tried and tested software which is already supporting a long list of History Groups and Museums.
The Home page displays a banner slideshow – which links directly into the catalogue, featured topics – which link to categories of articles and automatic links to the latest pages, latest comments and next events.
Two of the most important new features are ‘User Comments’, which are visible on every page of the website and catalogue and ‘Add Your Info’, which invites users to contribute any historical information (photos, memories, stories, cuttings, etc) into the online catalogue.
