(“Always the Same” -the motto of Queen Elizabeth I). The hand embroidered text reads “I think foul scorn that Parma or Spain or any Prince of Europe should dare to invade the borders of my Realm”. Cottons, silk, embroidery and metal thread. Hand applied and hand quilted. Original design reached after extensive research into Tudor paintings and manuscripts. 60″ x 68″.
This piece took about 18 months to make.
