Mr William George Davey, Priory Agent
William George Davey was born in 1874 at Bures Saint Mary Suffolk. In the 1920’s he took up a position managing Wherwell Estate and his family moved to Chilbolton and lived in a house called Anstey, remaining there until 1952/53. His wife Maud died in 1950. On retiring he returned to Norfolk to be near his eldest daughter in Norfolk and died in 1963 at the age of 86.
He was a stalwart of the cricket club and was also a noted shot winning prizes at Bisley. He was also actively involved in the Home Guard during WW2.
