Retirement of Pam Prince from the Parish Council
Farewell to Pam – after nearly 40 years
Pam Prince (right) is congratulated on her years of service by Wherwell Parish Council chairman Jane Andrews, watched by fellow councillors Sean Hutton, Liz Blakemore, Steve Shean, Gordon Pack and Susanne Horne.
WHERWELL Parish Council has said goodbye to one of its stalwart members who has stepped down after decades of service to the community.
Mrs Pam Prince attended her first parish council meeting on 11 March 1968 when the Council convened under the chairmanship of the late John Morgan. It discussed issues such as bus fares, housing and pathways. The council’s current chairman Jane Andrews said:
“Pam has always shown great care for the preservation of the character of the village and the wellbeing of the residents of the village. She has also been very reliable, has hardly ever missed a meeting and has been very involved in the community including the church and school”
Councillors marked Pam’s retirement from the Parish Council by presenting her with a beautifully arranged planter to adorn her garden.
