Test Valley DFAS Tenth Anniversary Luncheon 1981
Patricia Fay, who founded the Chiltern Antiques Group in 1965, was instrumental in the founding of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts (NADFAS) in 1968. Jean Ward met Patricia Fay through their husbands (Wilfrid and Charles), who were both barristers. When Jean moved to Chilbolton in 1969 they renewed their acquaintance. Brenda Kenning (latterly Brenda Headley) had been Secretary of Hart DFAS and in 1971 Jean and Brenda formed Test Valley DFAS, the 31st society to be affiliated to NADFAS.
In the 10th Anniversary photograph, Jean Ward is seated centre-foreground with Mrs Winsser (1st Treasurer) seated 3rd from the left. The seated lady in right-foreground, talking to Mrs Reed (standing) is probably Lady Brecknock.
In January 2017, NADFAS announced that it would henceforth be known as The Arts Society.
