Abbots Cottage, Village Street

Abbots Cottage (centre panel)

Formerly Abbot’s Farm, this 18th century thatched cottage is Grade II listed. Leslie Dunford, whose family had farmed in the area for over a hundred years, lived at Abbot’s Farm and regularly drove his cattle along Village Street. His sister, the local piano teacher, lived with him in later years and sold the farmhouse to Jane and Andrew Norriss in 1982. It was the last of the small village farms.
