Bullfinch

Bullfinch with berries (right-hand panel)
Mike Gee

The bullfinch is a European songbird with a black head and, in the male, a pinkish breast. It has a distinctive low-pitched call. The natural habitat of the bullfinch has spread from woodland and dry, open scrub, to farmland and towns. It causes damage to fruit trees and shrubs by eating buds.
