Daphne Edwards bought her first donkey as a pet in 1971 and over the years acquired six more. From 1972 she showed them at Agricultural Shows all over the country. Presently Daphne has only three donkeys; Corrie, her first pet who is now twenty-eight years old, Corrie’s son Tarquin, aged twenty-one, and Tarquin’s companion Jupiter, also twenty-one. The donkey embroidered on the square is Alaska – she has now retired to the Donkey Sanctuary.
