A thatched cottage tucked away from the main street with access via a narrow lane, Garden Cottage was originally part of the Chilbolton Cottage estate and the home of the gardener. Mr Appleby (Chris’s father) was the gardener for many years and he and his wife remained in the house after the estate was broken up and sold in the 1970’s. The cottage was recently put up for sale when Mrs Appleby moved into sheltered accommodation.
