Tudor and Willow Cottages, Joys Lane

Tudor & Willow Cottages (centre panel)
Mike Gee
Built in the 17th century, Willow Cottage and Tudor Cottage are picturesque thatched cottages on the narrow lane approaching the Common. Originally built as small semi-detached cottages, they sold for around £200 each in the 1940’s, a time when agricultural workers moved to the towns to live and find work. Willow Cottage (John and Doreen’s home) was extended in the 1940’s and the original beams covered.
