The marbled white butterfly is endemic on Chilbolton Common, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and an Environmentally Sensitive Area. The largely nocturnal marbled white inhabits rough, flowery grassland. The larva hibernates as soon as it hatches and does not feed until the spring.
